As General Manager of Glacier Electric Cooperative, I feel that it is important to focus on the balancing of the organizational mission statement: Competitive – Reliable – Innovative. Glacier Electric is an outstanding organization that has been providing reliable, cost based electricity to the Glacier County area since 1946. I consider myself blessed to have the opportunity to work for the members of Glacier Electric and be a part of this community. I was born and raised on a farm and ranch north of Fort Benton, Montana. I attended secondary school in Fort Benton and later received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Minor in Business Administration from Montana State University. During university, I performed a summer internship with Lincoln Electric Cooperative in Eureka, Montana. This internship was my first exposure to the cooperative world and I knew that this was the direction that I would want to take in the future. After completing my university degree, I worked for a engineering consulting firm, SSR Engineers, and later went to work for General Electric as a gas and steam turbine field engineer. I have worked for Glacier Electric as a system engineer and as the General Manager. In addition I have had the opportunity to be very active in the cooperative association and in the community. Currently, I am the chairman of the Montana Electric Cooperative Association committee on renewable energy. Also, I am a member of the Cut Bank Lions Club, and an active member of the Cut Bank Assembly of God Church. My wife, Kari, and I have three children, Kyler, Hailey, and Teigan. I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoying all outside activities. I always look forward to meeting all the members of Glacier Electric Cooperative, please take the time to stop by the offices of Glacier Electric and ask about your member owned Cooperative. |
